Nearly 50 Years of Experience

For Roofing Repairs after a storm hits

Whether you’re building a new home, adding onto your property, or replacing an aging roof, a properly installed roofing system is what protects your home from Chicago’s harsh weather for years to come.

At Euclid Roofing & Siding, we’ve been completing expert roof installations across Chicago and the surrounding suburbs since 1976, and we bring that same attention to detail and quality to every project we take on.

Roofs Built to Last Chicago's Climate

Chicago winters are unforgiving. Between heavy snow loads, freeze-thaw cycles, high winds, and intense summer heat, your roof takes a beating year-round. A properly installed roof isn’t just about how it looks, but it’s also about selecting the right materials, ensuring correct ventilation, and making sure every layer of the system works together to protect your home for decades.

Our team installs roofing systems designed specifically for the demands of the Midwest climate, using top-rated materials from trusted manufacturers like GAF. Every installation follows manufacturer specifications to the letter, so your warranty coverage is never at risk.

Roger k 3/30/2024

"So glad we chose Euclid over other contractors. Peter and his team were the best, informative, efficient and good workmanship. Need to have the high volume volume gutter guard section replaced due to clogging with "whirlybird" seeds."

FAQs

How much does a new roof installation cost in Chicago?

Roof installation costs in Chicago vary based on the size of your home, the materials you choose, and the complexity of the job. As a general guide, most residential installations fall somewhere between $12,000 and $30,000 for a standard asphalt shingle roof, with premium materials like metal or slate running higher. Chicago’s labor rates also run slightly above the national average due to local building code requirements and seasonal demand. The most accurate way to know your cost is to schedule a free estimate. We’ll assess your specific home and give you a clear, detailed quote with no surprises.

Do I need a permit for roof installation in Chicago?

In most cases, yes. Chicago’s Department of Buildings requires a permit for new roof installations and full replacements. The good news is that as your contractor, we handle the permitting process for you from start to finish, ensuring your project is fully code-compliant. If you’re in a surrounding suburb, permit requirements vary by municipality. We’re familiar with the requirements across the areas we serve and will take care of it either way.

What time of year is best for roof installation in Chicago?

Late spring through early fall tends to be the ideal window when temperatures are stable, and there’s less risk of weather delays. That said, we install roofs year-round and have experience working around Chicago’s unpredictable seasonal conditions. If your roof needs attention, don’t wait for the “perfect” season, because a failing roof in winter can cause significant damage fast.

What’s the difference between a manufacturer warranty and a workmanship warranty?

A manufacturer warranty covers defects in the roofing materials themselves and is provided by the material brand, in our case, often GAF. A workmanship warranty covers the quality of the installation and is provided by us. As a GAF Factory-Certified Contractor, we’re able to offer enhanced manufacturer warranties that most contractors can’t access, which means you get stronger coverage on both fronts.

How long does a roof installation take?

Most residential installations are completed in one to two days, depending on the size of the roof and the materials being used. We’ll give you a realistic timeline before work begins so you can plan accordingly.

Do I need to be home during the installation?

You don’t need to be home the entire time, but we ask that someone is available at the start of the project for a quick walkthrough and at the end to review the completed work with us before we leave.

What’s the difference between a roof installation and a roof replacement?

A new roof installation typically refers to putting a roofing system on a new structure with no existing roof. A roof replacement involves removing an old system and installing a new one in its place. The installation process and our quality standards are the same for both.
